A Picture of Jesus

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little girl. She wanted to know what the United States looked like. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to her and said, "Go into the other room and see if you can put this back together.

After a few minutes, she returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly. "Oh," she said, "On the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together."

  1. Dear Mr. Spearman,
This blog post really interested me. People in America can be so clueless about their own country which, you discuss sometimes in class. But I think something that everyone, even a little girl, knows is the love of Jesus. Something I did not like about this story was how the Father ignored his daughter because he was clueless about his country (That is how I interpreted it)and how he was so surprised when he found out the daughter knew Jesus.

  2. Ally,

You are right when you say that Americans are clueless for the most part is very true. Our society has for the most part, ignored God. Yet, when something bad happens, the first question they ask is, "Where was God?" Check out the video that I posted from Governor Mike Huckabee and let me know what you think. He said it very well.

  3. Dear Mr. Spearman,
I really enjoyed this post because it is funny that a father could not comprehend how his daughter figured out the map. Is he that suprised that his daughter knew America? Then she says that she only could do it because Jesus was on the back, he is even more shocked that his daughter knew the love of our savior Jesus Christ? Some people are so ignorant.
