Going Through the Fire

1 Peter 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

Wiersbe says, “When God allows his children to go through the fire, he keeps his eye on the clock and his hand on the thermostat.  If we rebel, He may reset the clock, but if we submit, He will not permit us to suffer one minute too long.”

Temptation is that which puts to the test.  Trials sent by God do this.  A test is never employed for the purpose of injury.  A weight is attached to a rope, not to break it, but to prove it.  Pressure is applied to a boiler, not to burst it, but to certify its power of resistance.”
